Trello as a research tool.
I have been introduced to Trello recently. Haven't heard of it before, but am finding that many family researchers are using this program in their research.
Question of the Day
Do YOU use Trello? If so how?
Would like a discussion on this program.
Thank you,
Russ
I came across it about 18 months ago & your question has prompted me to go back and revisit the site. I like what it is attempting to do. I am quite a visual person so I like the fact that this is essentially an electronic series of cork boards, but it doesn't flow for me.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I am working on something currently that is going to be a collaboration between myself and three others and whilst emails are easier for us, I wonder if we can be more interactive, proactive and collaborative with a visual design.
Looking forward to hearing what others think.

ReplyDeleteI am creating a Trello project for +DearMYRTLE and I to use for our collaboration in her various HOA's. Can't wait for her to get back home to see if it will work.
Good luck with your project.
Russ
And with yours Russ Worthington
ReplyDeleteLike you, I just heard about this in the past few days and, although I looked at the website, didn't opt to try it.
ReplyDeleteI used it for a little while a few months ago but ended up switching to another to do app on my tablet that integrates with my google calendar. I needed an all in one app.

ReplyDeleteActually, Trello integrates Google Calendar. I haven't done it yet, but it can be done. The Calendar View for a Board is also very helpful.
Not pushing Trello, but I did look at the video's and saw the Google Calendar issue. Working with a Demo / Test Board, the Calendar View was very helpful.

Russ Worthington I am going to look at it again because if I can use Google Calendar with it I am all for it. Thank you for the information.

ReplyDeleteI saw it in one of the Videos. Haven't added it yet, but am looking into it.
Good luck,
Russ
Russ Worthington It looks like it integrates with Evernote...I wonder how.
ReplyDeleteWhat videos are you watching??
Thanks!

ReplyDeleteRuss
Russ Worthington Thank you!
ReplyDeleteIs anyone using Trello that would be willing to share how they have their boards set up??
ReplyDeleteShannon Thomas - when DearMYRTLE gets back we will do a short subject video on this. I will be working on the genealogy use later this week
ReplyDeleteRuss Worthington Russ, I have been using Trello for two years in my print shop. It is an excellent collaboration tool for items that follow stages of a process. We use it to track print jobs through the various stages of production. I have not yet found a use for it in genealogy, so I'll watch with interest, as it is accessible on any platform.
