Reader Question: Blog not being found by Google

I am posting this question for the broader community, from a Genealogy Blogger: Once I post it, I will do some research. I want to get this question for others to help with.
Cousin Russ,
I am having issues with my blog posts on Blogger not showing up via a Google search. I've been researching this for the past week and can't figure out what the cause is. I've created a blog post to explain what is going on:
https://heartlandgenealogy.blogspot.com/2019/02/why-not-indexed.html.
If you or any of your community have any suggestions on how to fix this issue, I'd love to hear them!
Please read the blog post and either answer on her blog or here.

Thank you

Extra, Extra, Read ALL about it !!!

Extra, Extra, Read ALL about it !!!

I have taken the Content of this Google+ Community and have created a Blog which has the Content of this Community.

Here is a link to it -- https://cousinrusscommunity.blogspot.com/ -- I will probably continue to cross post Blog posts from https://ftmuser.blogspot.com. I wanted a way for folks to ask questions, so there is a Tab on the Blog for you to do that, if you wish.

When a question is asked, I will then create a Blog post with that question and an answer, but would encourage others to comment on that specific blog post. IF I use that question for my Family Tree Maker Blog, I will provide the question and a link to the specific blog with an answer.

The comments are moderated and will not be immediately published. Once a question has been handled, that question will be removed of that tab.

As before, this blog, as was this community, can go beyond the Family Tree Maker program.

Also, please use the LABEL list down the left column, as I have tried to put the posts in this community into appropriate Labels.

Don't forget the Search field in the upper Left column.

Sign up, if you wish, to receive notifications from this new blog.

Thank your support in this Community, but hope the new blog will help continue our conversation.

Thank you,

Cousin Russ

The football player Merlin Olsen is a relative of mine, but I'm not sure of the lineage. His mother's maiden name is Barrus. A fairly common, but local name to Salt Lake City. Any suggestions on my search?

On Jan 28th Wacky Wednesday with Fraulein you demonstrated a Record Log Spreadsheet and mentioned you had shared it with the attendees. I am a newcomer to the group and would very much like to get a copy. It appears to be valuable in cleaning up questions and creating a path to accuracy. Thanks so much.

Russ

Russ,
Do you know if a new version of FTM is coming out this year?
Is there a way in FTM 2014 to turn off the sync function?

I am thinking of getting a upgrade just to move my media to RM7 in a GEDcom file.
Thanks

A Follow up on a post in this community

A Follow up on a post in this community

Hi Russ Worthington .

Hi Russ Worthington ....it suddenly occurred to me that while I do a good job now of citing my documents and research findings in Evidentia and FTM 2014 I don't do anything to the hard copy/ paper documents that I have acquired. That get citations added to them in the database but I haven't been putting that info on the doc itself. These documents I am referring to are like vital records I have been getting from county clerks or probate files from a circuit clerk.

What is the best way to put the citation on the physical doc itself and where do you put is? Front? Back? In ink or pencil?

Thank you.

I have started a community for my local genealogical society.

I have started a community for my local genealogical society. I would like to add some files (not photos), but I am not sure how to. Would I need to save the file on Google Drive and then create a link back to the community? Do people need to request permission to view the files individually, or can I create a special folder with blanket permission?

I am getting to my earlier ancestors for the Nelson line.

I am getting to my earlier ancestors for the Nelson line., those before 1752 when the calendar changed. My question is how do I enter the correct date in my FTM program? I have it written on my index card as it is here. I believe I would enter this date as 26 Feb 1644. This does not change it to the Georgian calendar date, just leaves it that she was month on the 26th of Feb. Is this the best way to enter pre- 1752 dates?

I just attended Cousin Russ' presentation on Find A Grave.

I just attended Cousin Russ' presentation on Find A Grave. Even though I use Find A Grave on a regular basis, I learned a lot about the "lesser know" (but no less important) features! Thanks Russ!

I am supporting my friend in this effort. I'll even virtually cheer Judy G. Russell on as she is up this early in the morning. How about you?

Thank you,
