My system is Windows 7 Pro 64bit, FTM2014, workspace not sure.

My system is Windows 7 Pro 64bit, FTM2014, workspace not sure. After selecting a person in the People view. Go to the Person tab. Select Facts from the from the view menu. Once there if you right click on a individual facts line, the context menu has an option to merge duplicate facts. This is fantastic. My question is, is there a faster/better/auto way to do this? Is there a merge all for facts lurking somewhere?

Thanks

That's why it's a good idea to Review it.

I always save that report to a PDF file and DATE it. I can always go back to see what was updated. Especially, IF I did an update in the Ancestry Member Tree. i ALWAYS have clean up work to do on a Merge. Mostly in the Source Workspace. That Ancestry Citations do not meet my standards. My standards are to get my Sources into the Template Format, then I need to edit the Citation Details so that the Reference Note is close to Evidence Explained.

Census Records is another area. I want more data from the Census Record than what Ancestry will do. I try NOT to go a Census merge in my Ancestry Member Tree.

  2. Russ, you are right about it being to much of a process. I am rethinking it. The duplicates seem to be in the Ancestry.com file and I did not catch them until now. I also believe that they came the Ancestry.com IOS app. I went through the hints and accepted a bunch of them, well actually more than bunch. My thinking was if there was already an event there would not be a "hint" for it.

In your discussion with Diane you talk about a sync report. Is this report created after a merge of two files? Is it created after a sync between FTM2014 and Ancestry.com? Where do I find this report? When is this report deleted?

    Thanks

Please remember that the Ancestry APP is working directly with your Ancestry Member Tree AMT. So, if you merge a record in your AMT or from the APP the same out come.

When you do a Sync, you will be asked to view the Sync Report. I ALWAYS generate a PDF file (one of the options). IF any of the list of changes were done in my AMT I print and review the changes.

I think I have blogged about that in the past.
