Hi Russ.

Hi Russ...I have heard you say that you use Evernote in you family history research. I would be interested in learning more about how you and other members of the community use this tool and why you use it rather than OneNote. Thank you!

  1. I started using Evernote for my writing and then realized how handy it can be for genealogy. I never know what device I will have on hand when I can find the time to stop by a library or society so I needed something I could have on all my electronics. OneNote was unavailable on my ipod and tablet so did not seem like a good option.

The ability to email to and from Evernote is amazing along with the ability to share folders. I collaborate on several different branches of my family and evernote makes it easier than sending files back and forth between multiple people.

I tried OneNote and could see myself using it for larger projects but find myself going back to Evernote.

  2. Cyndi's List also has an Evernote section here http://www.cyndislist.com/evernote/ that has some really good resources.
