It sounds like a good idea, I'm sure we would benefit from your expertise and by answering specific questions, you would be targeting areas that some others would find helpful as well. I always learn something new in all of your posts.
Russ, I have enjoyed everything you put and describe on your blog but must say, it's better for me when you go online and actually show on PC how it should be done. It's like video tutorials for other software I learned.
Actually, I was thinking about you when I thought about doing these office hours after the couple of Video Chats you and I have had.
I have added a number of Training Resource links in my Blog post, with links to those video tutorials. Those links are in the Training Resource tab at the top of the Blog.
I'm very excited about this, as a FTM user, I have been coming to your blog since I started working on my family tree and I have always found your information useful, but I am a visual learner so I am over the top about your new videos and the plans you have going forward! I will be watching them! Thank you for doing this, it is a big help to me!
Russ Worthington, I think you've adopted a great method for helping FTM users. Are you sure you aren't on Ancestry's payroll? They've needed someone like you !) But I trust a friend's approach to software more than a "company" representative's sales pitch.* 😊
Pat Richley-Erickson - as we know, different genealogy program suppliers do things differently. I am only trying to share my experience with FTM2014, mostly in response to the many comments, questions, and concerns about the program all over the internet.
Trying this approach, I hope to help ONE User of Family Tree Maker each day.
Sometimes and almost always it's better to helping others with enthusiasm and simple wish to help them, thanks for your support Russ. But also it's not so bad to be paid for it.
I have been enjoying your videos very much! Thanks for all you do!

ReplyDeleteThank you and I think you are right. Might not have the question now, but later you might.
