  1. You said that your Media files from Ancestry do not upload in the sync because they already have the files. Did you have to mark them in some way, or is the file name worded in a certain way so that they are not uploaded?

  2. Anita M Butler - I do NOT have to mark a Record from Ancestry as private. Somehow, and it's been this way from the beginning, an Media File from Ancestry will NOT be in the Sync Process. Filenames, Captions are not involved either. Something, perhaps Metadata, is the clue for that file NOT to be included in the Sync

    Hope that helps,

    Russ

  3. Cousin Russ Thank you. I understood about the Private and Not Private difference. I just couldn’t figure out how Ancestry knew which files were originally theirs. Metadata ... hmm sounds very techie.

  4. Anita M Butler - yes it is and can't explain it, except there is information within the Media file that computers use. Users can also do Metadata within their images. I don't really need to understand, because it works.

    Thank you,

    Russ

  5. The Metadata would contain the information that is on the right side of the screen on his presentation. It gives the information about the media. I'm sure that anything that downloads from Ancestry they have written in the code not to load it back up to them.
