To the Cousin Russ community:

I want to share this blog post by DearMYRTLE . I totally agree with her Call to Action.

A very dear friend of mine's mother walked the "Trail of Tears". I  would be very interested in learning of how I would go about researching a Native American's family. Help her get her mothers story told. I am sure that her story is known within the family as story, but how can that story doesn't get told to the larger community. How does her story get put into the history classes that our children and grandchildren take.

Our own grandchildren have Native American ancestry. We took them to the Plimouth Plantation, but how would I go about doing some research to help connect their experience to the reality of the people who were being portrayed in Massachusetts. Or how do I research one of my ancestors who was probably miss represented in my family story as being a Native American. 

We have or run into many [ you name it ] American traditions to explore and learn more about.

If I understand the dialog that has been presented in the DearMYRTLE blog, I look forward to the outcome.
